I mean, I can get behind the most of this, but higher education should not be “an economic imperative”. An option for everyone, definitely, but people should not need to go to college, and those people who are working jobs that don’t require a college degree (because we do need somebody to do them, after all) should still be able to make a decent living for themselves.
